1. What is the point of our escape games?
You are locked in a complex, the clock is set to an hour, and you must work together in a team to solve puzzles and search for clues around the rooms to ultimately work out a door code and escape within the hour.
2. How long will the experience last?
The whole experience will last around 80 to 90 minutes. You will spend up to 60 minutes in the room (the maximum given time), however, a short briefing will be made before the game and we would love if, after your escape, you could share your experience with us while we take your photo and answer any of your questions!
3. How much would it cost and how can I book the tickets?
The price is £25 per person however discounts are available for groups of 9 or more. Please get in touch should you require a quote for a larger group. Refer to our website to learn more about the games!
4. Once I have made a booking do I need to print my confirmation out?
No! Please just confirm the details on your booking email are correct and then that’s all you need to do!
5. Can we book corporate team building and private events?
Absolutely! Our Escape Room experiences are perfect for team building exercises and group fun and we pride ourselves on providing exceptional service to our customers. 6. Who can experience a City Mazes Escape Complex?
The ESCAPE Complex experience is for people of all ages, backgrounds and genders who love puzzles and interactive challenges. Children under the age of 14 will need to be accompanied by an adult in the game when playing. The adult must be included in the total number booked for the game. Please note that children between 6 months and under 9 years old are not permitted into the games under any circumstances.
7. What are your opening hours?
Each venue is slightly different but on the whole we are open from 11:00 to 22:00 Monday to Friday and we are open from 09:00 to 23:00 at weekends !
8. What do I need to bring and what should I wear?
There is nothing you need to bring. Everything you need will be supplied. We would recommend to wear comfortable clothes and shoes you can move freely in. Please leave the stilettos at home though!!!
9. Can pregnant people play the escape games and is it suitable for people who suffer from claustrophobia?
There is very little physical effort required to take part in our games however we must advise that it is entirely at an individuals own risk. The escape complexes are huge however should an individual want to leave this can be done in a matter of seconds.
10. When should I arrive and is there parking available?
We ask teams to arrive at least 15 minutes before the game starts for your briefing and introduction.
There is plenty of parking at our Bristol & Oxford branches.

11. Which room should I play and what is the recommended number of players per team?
In Bristol we have five escape complexes. The ‘Bunker Blowout’ can hold between 2 – 10 people and is a three and a half star rating. Our ‘Abandoned Office’ has a capacity 2 – 10 people and is rated as four star. This game starts in darkness. Our second complex is the infamous ‘Hostage Hostel’. This has a capacity of 2 – 10 people. Its a five star rating and players are handcuffed in pairs or threesomes. Our newest games in Bristol are The Runner based on the film trilogy The Maze Runner and Subject 11 which is themed around the TV series Stranger Things
In Cardiff we have five escape complexes open. ‘Ice Breaker’ can hold between 2 – 10 people and is a four star rating. Our ‘Pirates of the Bay’ is a next generation game is a four star game and suitable for groups of between 2 – 10. Our ‘Bamboozled’ is another next generation game is a four star game and suitable for groups of between 2 – 10. Then there’s our ‘Fall-In’ game. This has a capacity of 2 – 10 and is a five star game. Finally our newest room there is Hostage Hostel V2 – this is not for the faint hearted and is a five star game
In Oxford we have five escape complexes. ‘Operation Spaced X’ (2-10 players) , ‘Professor’s Predicament’ (2-10 players) and ‘Atomic Agency’ are all four star and ‘Star Breaker’ and the infamous ‘Hostage Hostel’ where players are handcuffed in pairs or threesomes are five star rating and can hold between 2 – 10 people.
In Swindon we have four escape complexes all of which can accomodate between 2 and 10 people each.. Firstly the infamous ‘Hostage Hostel’. It’s a five star rating and players are handcuffed in pairs or threesomes. Then we have ‘The Runner’ based on the film trilogy” The Maze Runner” and ‘Subject 11’ which is themed around the TV series “Stranger Things”. Finally you can choose ‘Atomic Agency’ which is based in a Russian cold war office.
In London, we have two escape complexes. ‘Bamboozled’ is next generation game is a four star game and suitable for groups of between 2 – 10. ‘The Runner’ is another next generation game that features Augmented Reality and is suitable for groups of between 2 – 10.
12. Can I cancel or reschedule once booked?
City Mazes is a live event however subject to availability bookings can be rescheduled for an admin fee. There are no refunds available for cancelled sessions or attendees that have been paid for and then do not attend. Late arrivals of over 15 minutes are treated as a no-show and no refund will be offered under these circumstances. To change a booking please reply to your booking confirmation email with your request. Please note that no changes can be made over the phone.
